THE SHEFFIELDIST

VIDEO JOURNALISM, PHOTOGRAPHY & WORDS IN AN ECLECTIC BLOG DOCUMENTING LIFE IN SHEFFIELD, UK

Hay is for horses

Living on the edge of Sheffield meant, today, dealing with a self-important G4S “security guard” at a Department for Work & Pensions office this morning in town and, later, an evening stroll into countryside.

And so on the edge of England’s fourth biggest city tonight I met friendly Baby, a stallion, and his mate Dakota, both of whom were being fed their evening hay quota and watered by their owner. They are both around three years old and of high enough quality stock to become (or breed) show horses.

I must take a bag of carrots next time …
